“Something was wrong. He looked swollen, was sweating, and seemed tired. This brave man, full of life, was in trouble. A CT scan showed he had acute pancreatitis due to alcohol abuse. The reality hit hard; he would spend ten days in the hospital. After nearly twenty years in the military, he had relied on alcohol to cope with the stress of multiple wars and deployments. Watching him suffer, especially as my son returned from his first deployment, made me face an unacceptable future. I needed to create a substitute for alcohol—something relaxing, tasty, and social. This led to the creation of Canna Cocked. I wanted a drink that felt like a traditional one but tasted more like an energy drink, steering clear of the earthy hemp taste. Instead, I focused on uplifting herbs like lotus extract and schisandra berry. What started as a reaction to despair became a mission to provide veterans with a healthier choice. There is a better way, and we made a better drink.”
